Dogbox makes some good points. If we didn't have a monarchy, we would invent one, like France or the USA. But why does the taxpayer support so many houses? Buck Pal seems worthwhile and Chuck has his escape house in the country. The rest we could sell off, please!

I don't think either of these articles has done a good job of making the article either way quite frankly. The original just relies on bitter presumptions to jump to great lengths, and this one is, at best, a tepid defence of the monarchy which concludes 'better the devil you know'.
It is deeply amusing that the article defending the monarchy is more derogatory of His Majesty than the article calling for his removal.
