That depends a bit on what is meant by "conservative". I would have written "the perfect professional politician".
Conservativism is not simply professional turncoating, it is the defense and furthering of the interests of the dominant type of incumbents.
The main type of incumbents can change from landowners to industrialists to financialists, and some conservative politicians with long careers did switch from representing one type of incumbents to another type, but that is a natural evolution and does not happen often as changes in the dominant type of incumbents happen slowly,

As to the political and influence of the USA military branches this is quite reasonable but but I do not whether there are family dynasties in the USA AF like in the USA Navy. My guess is that the USA AF power is related more to the military-industrial complex connection where the fantastic spending by the AF on really expensive platforms creates an alignment of interests.
