Have just returned from visiting Manchester art gallery and the Whitworth - am not posh enough to be masochistic, yet I felt I had involuntarily engaged in masochism, or had had it foisted upon me. Turd world dribblerism; hectoring labels; my favourite Sickert, one of the Ennui versions, taken down and not even replaced with some bollix from the Drag Queen Grievance Factory. ...Well, not so bad then!
