That our second largest city is likely to become Muslim majority in 20 years is a depressing joke. What the Tories and Labour have done is incredible on the scale of ethnic cleansing. I hope to God that Reform do something to reverse it. Because I fear for the future.
What do you think will happen? Do you think native Brits need to start using terms like "ethnic cleansing" and "genocide" to discuss the situation? The crazy thing is that the political class doesn't care at all.
I'm reminded of a petri dish. The substrate is pink and an infection is introduced that slowly, then at an increasing rate, spreads. The pink area gets smaller and smaller.
As we leave the cities the country will become partitioned.
I live in Birmingham. This article did not go far enough in expressing what an utter shit tip it has become. We should extract our refugees, seal it up, build a wall around it, and declare it no longer part of England.
Enjoyable article. What is to be done? Nothing at all. The demographic imperative demands more immigration. Not just Muslim, like nutty Sharia-scarers shout, but of all kinds. Hindu and Latino included. It is called globalisation. Those who hate it can escape to the moon. Oh, demography can be improved if just nice Aryan-looking Brits start having plenty of children. They won't. So, resign yourself and accept reality. Farage and his xenophobic flag-wearers are illusions. The future of Britain is like Brazil! 😈
I agree I have moved from the Birmingham area to one of the neighbouring counties. I lived and have worked in Birmingham since 1980. In that time I’ve seen it decline steadily but it has accelerated over the last 5 years or so. If you came in from the 5 ways side you would see a vibrant city with the ICC, Symphony Hall The new library and the new office scapes near and around the Town Hall. You can tell a lot about a city from a Rail station. If you walk through the revitalised New Street station a visitor would be impressed. However as you step out say onto New Street you see something that would make you think the city is frankly as decrepit as the article suggests and where it was once thriving it seems seedy and downhill. This decrepitude has seeped out into the suburbs for example the previously upmarket Sutton Coldfield whose shopping area has definitely seen a lot better days. I avoid going into Birmingham now unless I have to and wouldn’t go into the city centre at night. Birmingham was and in parts is a great city but it needs vibrant leadership and a desire to get a grip on tidying up the city centre and making it safe.

A pity the article is anonymous
So sad that we have come to this.
I once was on the train through Birmingham with a Muslim colleague. Proper Muslim, big beard and wearing a robe.
He caught a glimpse of Birmingham university. It has a clock tower resembling a minaret, and domed roofs.
He was getting his phone out to take a photo when the view was obscured by trees.
I knew damn well what he was thinking!
On the way back, before we got to it I reminded him to get his phone out. He happily took photos.
"That will be a mosque one day" I said.
"Insallah" he replied.
