What do you call immigration cuts so moderate they cause systemic bankruptcy across 2/3 of the British university sector?

A good start.

On a related note, the articles about public sector skills training are all BS as well. The vast majority of civil service training courses involve sitting in a circle and talking about your feelings.

I think most would agree it’s a waste of time and money. They would also agree they don’t want to be the first and unlucky ones who get neither benefit of staying out or going to college.

But you never addressed the transition to a solution. I accidentally missed out and have been dealing with the societal effects ever since. I’m not eager to force my own children to do the same in hopes others follow.

American recent uni grad here. I fear we will all have to muddle through. I certainly will. I went from high-scoring student at an excellent school, through a series of poorly-paid internships that went nowhere, to a glorified dispatcher for security guards. The results of my expensive education now go to telling bored retired cops and ex-soldiers to bodily remove homeless people from private property and occasionally creating maps of where the aforementioned homeless people managed to (briefly) conceal themselves.

Stories like these are common among my cohort. Once they become common enough, the relentless pressure to put everyone through higher education will abate, ameliorating our present societal madness. Until then, I feel bad for the poor schmucks stuck in interminable high school classes.
